2271 L.D.S. ancestral file lists Margaret's name as Bayly, daughter of William Bayly from Gloucester, England. In that source, Margaret's date of birth is given as 1587 and therefore a marriage date of 1592 seems unlikely. Bayly?, Margaret (I13046)

2276 Land record dated 8 Jun 1833 where he is "of Livingston County, New York" identifies that he was either still living in Livingston County or *just* had moved to Michigan (probably the later). The property on this land patent is 80 acres at the current location of the town of Macon, Lenawee County, MI. ~L-002

Land record dated 10 Sep 1834 where he is "of Lenawee County, Michigan Territory" for 33 and 40/100s acres just a mile west of the original land patent at Macon. ~L-003

Land patent dated 18 Mar 1837 (another source gives a patent date of 3 Jan 1835) where he is "of Hillsdale County, Michigan" for 91 and 32/100s acres in Section 2 at the northern border of Allen Township, Hillsdale County and on the line or very close to the line of Litchfield Township. Also owning land in section 2 are B. Allen, Zebulon Doty, Marcus Mulliner and James Rainey. ~L-004

There are two other land patents for an Elias "P." (or "S.") Harrison and an Eli Harrison of Kalamazoo County. One in 1831 (just before "our Elias" was still "of Livingston County, NY") and one in 1838. I think these two records could be for the same person - the other Elias Harrison in the 1840 census at Prairie Ronde, Kalamazoo County. ~L-005, L-006

2285 Lawrence Turner worked at the ironworks in Lynn until about 1653. As his occupation was given as "mason" in a Rhode Island deed of 1663, he may have been a brickworker employed in the construction and maintenance of the blast furnace. His wife Sarah was involved in several altercations with others living at Hammersmith, the village at the ironworks. In connection with these disputes Lawrence Turner entered a suit against Henry Leonard and his wife Mary for defamation, and Henry Leonard countered with a suit against Lawrence and his wife for battery. Lawrence was living in Rhode Island by August 1653. There is no evidence that his wife Sarah went there with him, or that he had another wife. But his life there must have been more tranquil as there are no court records to mar his reputation. Turner, Lawrence (I11134)

He subsequently purchased seventy-four acres of his brother Fredrick. He and his wife were received at Bensalem church in 1710, and he was appointed junior elder. On December 30, 1715, he was commissioned a justice of the peace. 2296 Letters of administration were granted to John's widow in Suffolk Co, MA the 10th day of the 9th month 1675 for herself and two children. No further record of his family has been found, and the "History of Milford", gives no authority for listing John as a son of Benjamin. Since he was married in the same town and on the same day as James, it is likely that they were brothers. John Albee of Braintree, lost a servant, Francis Brown, by death in 1640, was present at a town meeting in Braintree 19 Dec 1640 and at another 19 Dec 1641, and was made a freeman of Braintree 10 May 1642 or 10 May 1643. The John Albee who witnessed a land conveyance in Charlestown, MA, in 1654 may be the same man. !ALBEE FAMILY RECORDS, Robt. S. ALBEE; Washington, DC; 1920 Albee, John (I14023)
