- killed by IndiansBetween February 3, 1672/1673, when at the Saybrook town meeting "Alexander Chalker and John Bushnell were chosen surveyors for the yeare Insueing," and February 27, 1672/1673, when another meeting chose Robert Bull surveyor "in the Room of goodman chalker, deceast."
According to Cutter [Genealogies of the Families of Northern New York) Alexander was killed in the Narragansett war.

| Notes |
- Alexander CHALKER was among the early settlers of Guilford, CT, and was quite a young man when he came to the town. He united with the church early, and was made freeman on 22 May 1648. His home lot of 3 acres stood on Crooked Lane, now State Street. On Feb 20, 1649/50, he stated in town meeting that he doubted whether he should be able to continue his present contribution to the minister's support. He was fined for "sleeping in centry & lossing his arms" on 9 Oct 1645, and was then called "Sander." He sold his lands at Guilford between 1652 and 1655, and removed to Saybrook, where he became a prominent inhabitant.
