Notes |
- Land record dated 8 Jun 1833 where he is "of Livingston County, New York" identifies that he was either still living in Livingston County or *just* had moved to Michigan (probably the later). The property on this land patent is 80 acres at the current location of the town of Macon, Lenawee County, MI. ~L-002
Land record dated 10 Sep 1834 where he is "of Lenawee County, Michigan Territory" for 33 and 40/100s acres just a mile west of the original land patent at Macon. ~L-003
Land patent dated 18 Mar 1837 (another source gives a patent date of 3 Jan 1835) where he is "of Hillsdale County, Michigan" for 91 and 32/100s acres in Section 2 at the northern border of Allen Township, Hillsdale County and on the line or very close to the line of Litchfield Township. Also owning land in section 2 are B. Allen, Zebulon Doty, Marcus Mulliner and James Rainey. ~L-004
There are two other land patents for an Elias "P." (or "S.") Harrison and an Eli Harrison of Kalamazoo County. One in 1831 (just before "our Elias" was still "of Livingston County, NY") and one in 1838. I think these two records could be for the same person - the other Elias Harrison in the 1840 census at Prairie Ronde, Kalamazoo County. ~L-005, L-006
