- In his will WILLIAM does not name wife, There is a 1612 burial of an Edith Holbrook (no further I.D or age given) so some have assumed
that must be his wife. This is unlikely. Edith is not a common name, and it makes more sense, knowing that his mother's name was Edith, that the burial was a daughter of this name. The odds are greater of this than for both his wife and his mother to have this uncommon name.
