Notes |
- Frances married George Morris and later divorced and married Wilber Daniels. According to family tradition, she "swapped husbands" with Mrs. Daniels. No children.
A news article described the divorce:
"Knew When She Had Enough
Because George Morris forced his wife Frances to work in the harvest fields, load and store away hay, cut corn and clean stables during the day and then attend to her household duties in the evening, she has applied in the Circuit Court for a divorce."

Hiram Rathbun was a hotel keeper in Grand Rapids (Rathbun House). He was also a Justice of the Peace in 1851. At the time of their marriage, they listed their residences as Jamestown Township.
J. W. Rathbun was Hiram's brother, John Williams Rathbun - named for his paternal grandmother, Mary Williams. No known family connection to Mary Elizabeth Williams, but interesting. (4/2003)
