- He was a soldier from Rehoboth in King Philip's War, and belonged to the expedition sent to chastise the Narrangansetts in the winter of 1675/76. He was also one of the founders of the 2d Baptist Church in Swansey, whom Wright, in his history of the six principle Baptists, mistakes for Sampson Mason, Senr. [1]
