Notes |
- The reason for their removal from the town of Fulton, Schoharie County, NY, was as follows. It appears that my great grandfather, Adam Bouck, had signed a note with a man, and when the maker of the note was unable to pay the same, Adam had to make good. In order to do so, he sold two farms, which he possessed, one in the valley and one up the "mountain". With the proceeds from the sale, he paid off the obligation, and purchasing 80 acres from the government in Michigan, moved the family there. There was a general migration going on at that time to the new territories and particularly to Michigan. !Archibald Forshee-1950

They were sons of Fridrich and Wilhelm (respectively) as distinguished in the baptism records. Both were married to women named Catharine. One of these was undoubtedly the John Bouck Sr mentioned as having removed to Canada after the revolutionary war. (See the pension records of John W. Bouck)
