- He was probably a young man, as his estate consisted of about 15 pounds, clothes and shoemaker's outfit according to the inventory in Trenton. His will was probated 24 Oct 1716. He calls himself cordwainer of Elizabethtown, Co., of Essex, "being sick and weak of body" leaves all to his dear brother Samuel of Bridgehampton, L. I. It is thought he fell victim to smallpox or consumption. The brother Samuel probably came soon after and got the property left to him.
