  Notes	After the birth of the first six children the family removed to Litchfield, where a new tract was being developed. On the way thither, between Hartford and Litchfield, another son, William was born. According to the Gibbs Family Bulletin researchers, there was a son Samuel GIBBS, "son of Benjamin and Abigail," was born November 30, 1704, was married on September 8, 1728 to Rebekah GARY and they had the following children: Stephen, Samuel, Mary, and Giles. Since the marriage of Benjamin and Abigail was in 1708, and Benjamin was abut ten years older than Abigail, it is very possible that Benjamin had an earlier wife who was the mother of Samuel.
