- Thomas Sanford was not only a successful man, but a thoughtful, sagacious man, deeply interested in his family's welfare. He wisely educated his children, well knowing they would do the same with their children. His will indicated him to be an active, enterprising citizen, and bore his part in public matters, though he did not achieve distinction in a political way.
