Notes	Richard Lewis, a native of Wales (Childs), located in Rhode Island, and from him sprung the family of that name who settled in Champion (NY). This Richard Lewis seems to have had property in Connecticut. On Ashford, CT records is a deed given by James Corbin of Woodstaock, Suffolk Co, MA to Richard Lewis of Providence, RI, July 11, 1717. This may possibly have been his father. In later deeds, his sons Edward and Nehemiah speak of "their honored but deceased father Richard Lewis."
