- Quintane and Abigail settled in Deerfield. In 1677, about twenty of the settlers in the Connecticut Valley were taken captive by the Indians to Canada, among whom was Quintane Stockwell. He returned to Deerfield after several months of hardship. An account of his captivity was published by Increase Mather in 1684. !History of Medfield, MA, Tilden:329
