- John, 4th son of the "patentee" lived and died in Lynn, as did his brother Samuel. At the early age of 21, he married Sarah Meriam; and died when but 38 years old, leaving her a widow, who, married John Lewis for her second husband. My (the writer's) honored grandfather, Capt. John Jenks, was his only son, and youngest child, left an orphan in infancy. But he (John) also had four daughters, two of whom married and settled in Lynn. !
