- Nathaniel Jenckes was a major in the colonial militia and active in all civic affairs. He married Hannah Bosworth who was a Mayflower descendant. He was made Freeman, 1690; Captain of the Militia, 1709; Major, later on. He was called "Strong Nat" and was said to be able to lift 2,000 pounds. !Jenks Genealogy, 1937
