    • Charles emigrated to Niles, Michigan in 1849. Charles and Caroline (Sweet) Conklin were listed as witnesses to the marriage of Juliette Conklin and Wooster Bryant in 1856. Charles was a gunsmith and a blacksmith and was listed in a Millburg Village (Berrien Co) directory in 1871 when he ran a blacksmith shop in Benton Harbor. In 1873 he removed to Pleasanton, later to Pierport, Manistee County. [2]
