- Great Fire of London 1666 destroyed many of churches in London so we do not know exact which church they were alleged married in. They had to be Puritans in order to be in the John Winthrop Fleet of 1630. John Winthrop went on to become Governor of Massachusetts. Everybody in the fleet were all Puritans to begin with.
