Notes |
- Of Dedham and Medfield, ab. 1656, purchased in the E. part of S. 800 acres of Simon Bradstreet, the grantee, and immediately settled upon it, where Leonard Morse resides. This part of Sherborn has ever continued to be called the Farm. It originally included the meadow E. of the common. He was evidently a man of rank; and acted as leader in the enterprise of adding a new town to the colony. In all public meetings and elections in Sherborn precedence was uniformly yielded to him as long as he lived.
